I'm trying to get to Sardinia (OLB-preferred or Cagliari) May 24th, 2007 from Rome. I've checked Meridiana and it appears they do not fly on that day.

Does anyone know alternative ways to get to Costa Smeralda (porto cervo) on a Thursday (Boat, another carrier, alternative departure city).

We are leaving CDG on the 24th and flying to rome on an award ticket, so if there are places around CDG that we can fly to OLB on the cheap I can void that section of the award ticket.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've checked all places I know of (Travelocity, Orbitz, Meridiana) for flights from Italy on May 24th with no luck.

Are there just no flights from Italy to Sardinia that time of year? I'm even willing to fly into CAG and make the drive if need. Also I can fly out of CDG or near CDG if the price is reasonable.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am fairly sure Meridiana doesn't load their fares very far in advance, so it's possible they just haven't loaded anything for May 07 yet.

Are you able to book for other dates in May, just not the particular date you want? (in which case my fares not loaded yet theory isn't correct :D ) Or are there no flights showing at all for May?

I think your theory is correct. The closest flight I can book FCO-OLB is in March. So I think it is safe to say they haven't loaded them yet.

If you're able or willing to do CDG-ZRH instead of CDG-FCO, then an option to consider is Helvetic Airways nonstop from Zürich to Olbia. Schedules and fares for May 2007 are loaded on the Helvetic Airways website.

I believe that Meridiana also does CDG-OLB as well as CDG-CAG-OLB.

I have gone by boat/ferry from Civitavecchia to Olbia....boat was run by Italian Railway..

BTW, Costa Smeralda is a little expensive .. talk to your bank :D
