I'll be going to hawaii for 2 weeks in January. Our plan is to arrive in maui on monday night, stay till sunday(6 days), go to big island till thursday night (4 days), and then head to o'ahu. On big island we'll be flying into Kona and out of Hilo. Here's my dilemma: We can either leave Maui on a 9am flight or a 6 pm flight to big island (both are direct). I prefer the evening to maximize daylight time. But should I go in the morning to have more time big island? What do you think? Thanks.

Also is Island Air OK?

(ps, my husband posted this...sorry for the repeat!)

Depends, what are your thoughts on what you want to do while there? I've not flown that airline so I don't know anything about that. If you are a beach person why not enjoy a longer time on Maui. If you are planning on volcano viewing and all the different things to do on the Big Island, just remember you have to drive a little further to get to them.

Island Air has been good to us.
I suggest the morning flight. 5 days on Maui and then off to the Big Island is totally cool!
