JAL Offers Double Miles and 'Discounted' Upgrades to Frequent Flyers

From this month, Japan Airlines is offering two special promotions to members of the JAL Mileage Bank, JAL's frequent flyer program, in the form of the JAL Double Mile Campaign and the JAL ``More-for-Less'' upgrade campaign.

With the double-mileage program, any JMB member departing on November 15, 2001, through March 31, 2002, on any international route of JAL, Japan Asia Airways or JALways will earn twice the standard mileage credit on eligible fares. First class travel, ordinarily worth 150 percent of the basic mileage, will now earn 300 percent; business class will earn 250 percent; normal economy fares will earn 200 percent, etc., during the campaign period. JAL code-share flights operated by American Airlines are not included.

Members (unless already registered for the previously announced JAL 50th Anniversary Double Bonus Campaign) must register using code ``A1A,'' either by telephone or on line.
