JAL to slash U.S.-bound flights

TOKYO — Japan Airlines (JAL) said Thursday it will temporarily slash the weekly number of U.S.-bound flights by 34 because of drastically reduced passenger bookings in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the United States.
