There's only 30 more minutes of this warning left, but nevertheless, maybe I can warn at least one FT'er and this could be for discussion as well:
State Civil Defense is warning beachgoers to stay out of the water between 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. because of possible strong currents and potentially rough conditions brought about by the 8.1 magnitude earthquake near Japan early this morning.

A tsunami watch for the state was lifted around 5 a.m. The earthquake generated a series of small tsunamis off the shores of Japan, but were far smaller than originally anticipated.

You know what I thought of? Jellyfish.

First of all, today is 1 month since the earthquake, and I remember planting myself on the beach on the 16th, and they jellyfish warnings were all over.

What is it about the 15th & earthquakes?

We spent Sunday and Monday in a vacation condo on Sugar Beach, Kihei, just up from the Kalama Beach Saturday shark attack. No sharks, but lots of jets! (Situated on the OGG flight corridor).

We had a t.v. in our condo but didn't turn it on. That is why were found ourselves at D.T. Fleming Beach in Maui at 8:45am on 11/15, wondering where all the people were. A couple warned us of the tsunami warning (news to us!) and we talked to the lifeguard, who warned us to keep a watch out for warning signs, such as a quickly receding ocean.

At 9am on the dot, the men went snorkeling while we sat on the beach and soaked in some rays. Never saw anything unusual.

A shark attack and a tsunami all during our week in Hawaii....my poor mother. :)
