Violinist Yukawa to sue for Dad's crash death
LONDON — British violinist Diana Yukawa and her sister Cassie, whose father died in the world's worst single plane disaster in 1985, are expected to announce later this week that they will sue Japan Airlines (JAL) for compensation, sources close to the case said Tuesday.
Diana, 15, and Cassie, 20, are planning to take legal action against JAL and Boeing Co. of the United States because the pair, whose father Akihisa Yukawa died in the crash, "have not been given the same consideration as the other victims' children" in terms of compensation for the loss of parents, the sources said.
Negotiations in London between JAL and the sisters' legal team failed to come to an agreement and the family is set to go to court.
