Hi all:
Search did not work for this one! So apologies if this has been answered already!

I have had a award reservation changed involuntarily so I am being put on a connecting flight via Philadelphia rather than a direct flight originally confirmed. However, even though the scheduled time of arrival at destination does not change much, I will be on a last flight out of PHL on christmas eve, leaving around 11:15 pm. So, rather than take a chance, and get delayed overnight, I want to re-book on another airline for arrival at a more decent hour.

Since the airline (US Airways) have changed my flights, can I cancel my reward reservation without the $100 penalty?

Thanks in advance.

I would think so. I had a change in aircraft a few years back (from 330 to 767) and they would have refunded my money to me if I'd so wanted. Didn't do it though.

Thanks! In principle it was done, but in practice I still don't know. It took them two hours after I had to go to the airport office! They managed to re-deposit the miles, but I still don't know what happened to my taxes!
