When my mom and along with her friend who went to PHX this morning. She & her friend has been dropped it off at the curbside when the skycap to check out the computer when her friend Tova is fly back home to FLL and skycap was type the computer to print out of 2 baggage tags but, she has only for 1 bag checked. He was mxed it up the wrong bags and he was putting on wrong cities. It was someone else person name their black bags. She gotten lost with her bag while she was flying back to FLL. What is reason why HP/US was mixed it up the bags when her friend was trying to get onto the plane. She was waiting the checkpoint A more than 35 minutes try to get through. Do you think that we can sue with HP/US what they did put on wrong baggage tags. When US was called us about her bags is still there and it was not her when HP/US was accidently to put type second checked bags and do next time when skycap do put right bag for type 1 bag not 2 or more than 3. Thanks!

Just to make sure I've got it straight....

Your Mom (bound for PHX) and her friend (bound for FLL) checked bags with the skycap, who put the wrong bag tags on the two bags. Your Mom's bag ended up in FLL, and presumably her friend's bag ended up in PHX.

If that's correct, I'd certainly expect US to get the bags to the right cities. Hopefully US won't try claiming that it's your Mom and friend's responsibility because they didn't check their claim receipts for proper routing - while true it's poor customer service as far as I'm concerned.

As for sueing, if you mean the legal type it's probably not worth the hassle as long as US will get the bags to the proper people.

Ok, Guys I have some news from my mom's friends in Florida and US has been spoke with her and they found Tova's bag to put on the wrong airplanes. US will sent her bag will be RUSH by overnight to arrive in FLL. US will be delivery to her bag to her apartment in the van tomorrow. So I can't believe it when Tova's bag has been gotten lost and HP/US put on the wrong planes. That is reason why Baggage handling does not good job for them here in PHX. When Tova has been left message for my mom and she told me that US has been found her bag while they put on the wrong airplanes. Can you care explain reason why US didn't do it well.

If I understand the situation correctly, the skycap mistagged the bag. Once that one error was made, the rest was inevitable - everybody else that handled the bag took the proper actions according to the bag tag.

Some advice for the future. It is often hectic at the check in counters or curbside. Always watch the skycap or the gate agent put the tag on the bag. Also make sure it is yours and that you have the receipts.

That also give you a chance to chuckle when they put on that priority tag.

As BoingBoy said, if the tags get put on wrong, nothing can go right after that. Not only are the bags in the wrong city, they have someone elses name on them.
