I am looking for flights from Oakland or San Francisco to Richmond or Norfolk VA. The sites that I am looking at Jet Blue and Southwest only have dates out to March and April I want the end of June and July. When do they add more months? I noticed Southwest had some very cheap promotional fares prices but I am sure they will go quick if offered. Is there a magic number like 330 days before departure at 12:00 midnight that I should mark on my calendar to check for flights?

i have a tendancy to book very far in advance. I have already looked at airfare for a trip in July. The big airlines usually, correct me if im wrong, put their schedules out 10-11 months in advance. Which doesnt neccessarily mean the cheapest. I book a flight to europe in March for travel in January the next year.
There are different ideas for when the best time to book is. Ask ten people and you will get ten different answers. Ive found that booking midweek works for me. Always check sites to get an idea of what a high priced fare is so you know when something good comes along. Southwest has online only fares that are great, but dont last long. so keep on trying.
