While reading this forum I came across a post of seeing dolphins in Batam island in Indonesia. I will be flying in at 11A and leaving next day at 1:30A on Jet Star asia.

I'd like to know if it would be possible to visit the dolphin village for a swim with them within this transit.

How much would it cost by cab from Tanah Merah to the ferry ?

Can I get a direct ferry to the village?

If this is not a possible idea I'd like to do the night safari, but as I plan to spend the night at the airport how would I be able to get to the airport after the event as MRT closes by 11:30P right? What's the best way to get to the safari from the airport?

I'm an Indian citizen with a US green card and would like to know if I am eligible for a visa on arrrival in Indonesia? I looked up the net but seem to find conflicting info. Most of them don't incl India but this link from the Indonesia embassy says Indians are eligible.

Thanks a bunch!

I personally think the night safari is over rated. You would be better off heading into town and grabbing a bite to eat at the hawkers markets and exploring a bit.

No idea about the dolphins, or the VoA for Indians, but the night safari closes at something like 11pm, so the MRT isn't really an issue. In any case the way most people get to and from it is by taxi...

You can find dolphins in Singapore too on Sentosa, and I'm pretty sure they also do a "swimming with the dolphins" kinda thing. Some details here:
