Flying into Hawaii Kauai (LIH) from Phoenix (PHX) returning from Maui (OGG). I have a few questions:

Equipment:
What aircraft is used , I imagine 757 but is it ex US ETOPS or something else. How is the cabin configured, how many first class seats, is the plane similar to domestic configuration.

Service:
What kind of service is ofered in first, coach.

Upgrades:
Is it worth it. Are there restrictions based on fare class. I have TA/HA upgrades and points but is there a need to buy a specific fare class. Can you purchase an upgrade with miles. What are the chances of an op up for a CP.

Lounge access,
What are the rules for lounge access on UG flights/*G rules etc.

Thanks in advance.

B 757-200 with 14 FC seats
4 rows of 4 with no 1C or 1D

It is a domestic flight so no *G benefits for lounge whether you are in First or Economy).

Configuration/seats: same as domestic FC.

It is very similar to the FC service on long domestic flights or flights to Mexico City. There is a meal, movie, and free liquor. Nothing more.

You can upgrade for $200 or 15000 miles if you are preferred (and a partner for $200). If you buy a Y or B fare ticket you can upgrade for free.

Whether or not it is worth it? It depends on how valuable those dollars/points are to you. I think it's worth it. It is quieter and more peaceful than flying in coach and there is less chance of sitting next to a chatterbox.

I remember when America West started they offered service to Honolulu and Nagoya. The upgrades were definitely worth it then.
