There's a lot of discussion about this as well in the Hotel Deals subsection of Mileage Run. For me it has to beat the likely costs with Priceline, and in most cases that's iffy, even for 2-day stays. OTOH, in places like Las Vegas and Reno it's possible to get certain dates for near-nothing, and deep discounts also are reported for parts of Southeast Asia.
