Forget Hilton. I'd go for the more modern Conrad, but I suspect most others here would prefer Ritz.

Another vote for the Conrad. Nicer hotel than the Hilton, better location that the Ritz. And if you can get into the Lounge on the thirty-somethingth floor, you get great views of Marina Bay and the skyline. And free drinks. ^

If you like Champagne and are a gourmand like myself, I would pay the premium for the executive floor room at the Conrad. The breakfast buffet in the lounge was excellent as was the evening cocktail hour buffet (more like a light dinner). They also had a nice afternoon tea. Plus they pour Veuve Clicqout!!

Isnt the RC just across the road from the Conrad ?

For the same price I would probably book the RC. However if you are Diamond with HHonors where theres a good chance of an upgrade at the Conrad, it can be a difficult choice.

It's a little bit more complicated than that. The RC is rather close to the Conrad, but because of the way the traffic runs and the walkways go, it can be a little difficult to get from one to the other.

If the price of an Exec Floor room is cheaper at the Conrad, or you can get yourself upgraded due to HH status, then I would choose the Conrad over the RC.

If price is of no concern then I would go for the RC Club floor or the MO Club floor. The Marina Bay view at the RC is spectacular though.....

now we're looking at the conrad versus the Sheraton or Swissotel.

Definitely CONRAD, though the Swissotel has a slightly better location (Raffles the Plaza next door would be a better comparison for the CONRAD)

the Sheraton lists "butler service" on rooms that are about the same price as the conrad. my spouse is starwood gold so we thought that might get us an upgrade. what do you think of the sheraton?

Slightly better than the average US Sheraton. Zero upgrade for Gold. Rates has been pretty high for the last couple of years, and IMO very poor value for money.

I would go for the CONRAD. You should get free breakfast if you are HH Gold.

I'm going to be in Singapore for the first time over Thanksgiving, and after procrastinating on hotels I tried priceline for the first time and got the Conrad Hilton for $100 a night from 11/24-11/27. Is this a good rate for this hotel? How does the hotel treat priceline customers in general? I'm arriving on 11/24 on UA895 at 11:45PM, so I won't actually get to the hotel until 1AM or so on 11/25. And my flight back to SFO leaves at 7:30AM on 11/27. Is it sufficient to email my itinerary to the hotel? I don't want them to cancel my reservation as a no-show on Thursday.

Are you staying at the Conrad or the Hilton? They're different hotels and the Conrad is much better.

I flew in on UA a couple of weeks ago, arriving 11:59 PM and getting to the Conrad at about 1:00 AM. The won't cancel your reservation as there are plenty of late night arrivals.

The exec floor (due to the exec lounge) is very nice. They have decent food and drinks, as well as a great view from up there.

Not sure if all the floors have it, but we made sure to take the complimentary rubber duckie and stuffed bear that the Conrad rooms come with.

That's an excellent deal - one that I took advantage of for the SIN Do coming up next month.

I love those exec premier rooms...especially when they're under US$200/night.
