I've seen numerous questions about the transit hotel. I've stayed there twice in September and thought i would give some feedback.
First of All, it's a nice place to stay for a couple hours especially if you are on a late arriving flight from the U.S. such as UA. YOu don't need to worry about going out to the city for a hotel. The single room which i stayed was small and had this musty smell, but it was a pretty good for what i paid (around 30 or 40 US). However there is no private bathroom...unless you pay for the special room. You must use the one in the exercise/workout room. The shower's in there are good though.
Luggage Questions:
On the way to Singapore, i was not on a connecting flight and as many people do went through immigration the next morning. You just have to claim you luggage at the counter after passing immigration. WARNING: They do not store your luggage behind the counter...it just sits there in front of this counter..just go and take it. It is manned, but they don't really check. So make sure you don't leave any valuables in there. Singapore's a pretty safe place, so i wouldn't worry too much. If you are though, im not quite sure about retreiving your bags and going back into the hotel.
Connecting FLight:
Just make sure when you check at for your flight to singapore to tell the airline where your final destination is. For example, I was flying back to the states from KUL, just tell them to tag your bag all the way back to the states. When you wake up, go to the transfer counter and they will put your bag on the right plane HOPEFULLY. I read that the budget airline passengers have to get your luggage first..but if anybody knows you can add info for future people.
Hope this helps
