AAdvantage offers members an 8-day Intraisland Pass for 15000 miles. This will be discontinued in August and I wanted to redeem one for myself and my wife. How is Hawaiian Airlines for flying between islands? It sounds like a good deal but I just want to make sure that there are only twin prop planes offering flights once a day for example.

Mahalo!

Basically you have two inter-island choices......Hawaiian and Aloha. The former flies mainly old DC-9-50's and the latter flies old B737-200's. Flights to some of the smaller airports (Molokai, Kapalua etc) are via turbo-props. HA also has two brand new nice B717's in service and will have all its DC-9-50's replaced by the nice B717's by Oct 2001. Aloha has NO ANNOUNCED PLANS for replacement. Most flights are 25 min or less. Safety records and on-time stats are excellent for both airlines.

I have flown both many times and prefer Hawaiian. Others prefer Aloha. Happy flying and enjoy the islands.!

ps: both airlines have web sites and list the aircraft flying on the routes

Those interisland flights are too short to notice much difference btwn two. As with MisterNice I prefer Hawaiian. I'm sure UA flyers prefer Aloha...
