I may be going to Hawaii on business in
October and will be heading to one of the
outer islands. Planning to take either
American or United Or continental for the
long haul route, but was thinking of connecting with Hawaiian.

Any impressions of this airline?

Are there alternate airlines?

If I remember this is the airline with the
crew wearing nice Hawaiian shirts, which I
liked.

I just flew with them a couple weeks ago. Interisland it's pretty much like southwest, no seat assignments, line up at the gate, and you get some juice. All the flights are short hops. Aloha air is the other interisland carrier.

I think United maybe American has flights to the outer islands direct from some mainland cities. I know there is a United SFO - Maui flight

as a veteran interisland flyer (i live on the Big Island)...i prefer Hawaiian Airlines... more scheduled direct interisland flights, larger aircraft....United is the only major carrier that flies directly from L.A. and San Francisco to the Big Island
