Can anyone recommend an evangelical church in the Lihue area?

Since this thread has had so few views in this forum, after consultation with another moderator I am moving to the Hawaii forum.

I looked on the Willow Creek Association website and there's a church that might interest you: Ohana Christian Fellowship (http://www.willowcreek.com/wca_info/find_a_church/ProfileDetail.asp?MP=516578%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%2 0%20557)

If you're not familiar with the Willowcreek Association, it is based out of Willow Creek Community Church near Chicago and consists of churches of many denominations that share the same values and goals. The senior pastor at Willow is Bill Hybels. I think you'll find this church to your liking. (I hope so!)

I checked a list of churches in Lihue online, but you can't tell from the names, and sometimes denomination, where they stand doctrinally.

I should have looked at your location a bit closer! Willow is right in your back yard. Have you ever been to church there?

Only once on a Sunday. The seeker service is too passive and too light on biblical content for me, and I don't like big congregations. But I recognize the church is reaching a lot of people who wouldn't normally attend a church.

Have you tried searching on the denomination's website? Presumably, you have certain denominations in mind. If you do a search for churches there, at least you might be able to get the URL's for churches in the area and you can see there beliefs on their individual websites.
