I was thinking of flying to EWR to TLV with EL AL in first class. Is EL AL first decent? Any experiences would be helpful. Thanks.

In ElAl there is a huge difference between the classes in the different aircraft types.
The new 777 (only one plane in service) they have full flat beds, in the 747-400 it's not a flat bed but a good seat and in the 747-200 it's not worth it.
I suggest to check the a/c type before booking.

If are flying ELAL for the security, then take them. If not, take Continental in BusinessFirst. From what I hear from those who have flown both, BF is far superior.

Does CO fly nonstop?

Also, how is the food on El AL in F on world standards?

CO flies once per day nonstop (it used to be two).

From what I hear, if you need a Glatt (strict) Kosher meal, EL AL is the way to go. However, BF food is again far superior.

Sounds like CO is the way to go.

I actually prefer the 747-200. The seats recline further, and the space is more private. However there are no personal video's

Haven't tried the 777 yet.

What are the seats like in the 747-400?

only sit first on 777. the 777 is terrible for coach. the seats and spaces are smaller than on the 747-400.
