Are liquids banned from the NRT-ICN-NRT flights if I am not travelling transpac on that day with United?

bump. any one fly NRT-ICN-NRT?

I don't think so. Yesterday I bought a small bottle of cologne(1.7 oz) in the NRT duty free shop; the clerk whipped out this chart of updated regulations for bringing items to the U.S. (I was flying NRT-SFO.)

She showed me the 3.0 oz rule, and also removed the packaging and supplied me with the TSA-mandated zip lock bag! ^

Hmmm.... I flew NRT-TPE a couple of weeks ago (post-baggie era) and everyone was put through a cursory screening on the jetway. They simply asked if I had any drinks or other liquids and didn't actually search the bag. She did steal two books of matches, though... even though they are allowed.

There were no liquid restrictions when I flew from ICN to NRT with Asiana - 13/Aug/2006
(3 days after British airports went crazy over liquids)

I'm flying today from NRT to PEK with JAL and there's no restriction on carrying liquids.

Sept. 04 SJC-NRT on AA, NRT-ICN on KE
A bottle of wine from SJC dutyfree had traveled to Seoul downtown with no problem.

Sept. 12 ICN-NRT on JL
A bottle at ICN dutyfree went to Tokyo downtown with no problem.

I think a distinction to make is whether or not the NRT-ICN-NRT flight is operated by a US carrier. If it's a NW or UA flight, I would expect US security rules to apply.

I flew UA nrt-icn and icn-nrt in mid Oct. Nrt inspection is a bit stricter than icn, but both let you take 3oz or less bottles.
