I am planning trip to TOL from SGF. I need to arrive as early as possible in TOL on a Monday. I have a potential run departing SGF at 6.00am and arriving ORD at 7.33am via US Airways Express. Then departing ORD at 7.40am and arriving TOL at 9.35am via American (Express I think). You can see the rest here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6564593#post6564593).

Anyway, I understand that I am thinking about a 7 minute connection. However, because I'm flying 2 different carriers (US Air from SGF-ORD and American from ORD-TOL), what would happen if my US Air flight is late and I miss my American flight? Will they just put me on the next available ORD-TOL flight with American or will they try another carrier? I'm not trying to miss my flight by any means, but I realize that it is highly likely. If I do miss my American flight due to US Air being late, etc. am I entitled to any compensation?

A 7 minute connection? That's impossible, particularly since US and AA are in different terminals at ORD. Only way it might work is if the AA flight departs late and the US flight arrives on time or better....

You have two separate tickets, right? When you miss your AA flight, you'll be at the mercy of the AA staff. I'm not very familiar with AA, but most likely they'll put you on the next flight, assuming there are seats available.

US won't provide compensation if they arrive late, or if you miss your next flight.
