I was put on a special registration through US customs, which means i have to report leaving the country (fingerprinted and photographed). Unfortunatly I have to do it on my last leg of the flight. My last leg was DCA-YYZ, DCA not having an NSEERS departure point. I asked the gate agent if I could change the flight and she did everything she could, routing me through CLT, i might get in later but she didn't charge me for it.
I'm not sure if we're allowed to mention names here but she was fantastic, enough to send a letter of thanks to the airline and her. This could have easily cost me several hundred $ in change fees etc.
I've been noticing this level of service the last few flights and i'm getting quite impressed.

Just curious was "she" in the Club or ticket counter?
There are some really wonderful folks in the TPA club and counter as well. Franklt not surprised you had a positive experience.

If you don't deem it personal - I am curious as to how one ends up on special registration? Sounds somewhat unfair for the gov. not to offer services from all airports that have service int'l.

Travelling with my boss, who's an arab. If you are an arab you get tagged, registered but not tracked. If you are travelling with one you get it as well.
It's silly really, you tell them where you are, they let you go there, you can switch hotels, go wherever you really want inside the usa, as long as you report departing the country you won't go to jail.
you can read about it: www.richguy.com/blog
he says nice things about us air this time, pretty much the same nice things i said.
Funny story though, got to CLT, nobody knew what to do here and the # on the form for the customs office here was out of service. How lame is that?
When we finally found an agent, asked him what it would take to not get registered and he pretty much said we had to become US citizens. Like I'd give up my Canadian citizenship! geez!
