I'm making a quick weekend trip to Maui and want to make the most of it in terms of dining. That will mean having to eat at the nicer restaurants at lunch. I would for sure like to go to Mama's Fish House, Plantation House, Hali'imaile General Store and David Paul's Lahaina Grill. I have 3 lunches and 2 dinners available. Any suggestions on which to definitely go to for dinner and which would be open and ok for lunch (i.e. lunch menu is still pretty good)? Any other suggestions (e.g. breakfast)?

I would suggest going to Mama's Fish house for lunch instead of dinner. Only reason is you would be there during daylight hours and the view's are just beautiful. Their lunch menu is very good (and pricey as well). For breakfast maybe the Gazebo in Napili (for Mac Nut pancakes).

Plantation House: B, L, & D; views
Mama's: L & D; Views
David Paul's: D only; No Views
Ha'ile Ma'ile: L & D; No Views
Gazebo: B & L; Views
There's your two days. Thumbs up to each! Also, for foodies: Gerard's (D only), and Chez Paul (D, Sat. & Sun. Brunch). For Oenophiles: Castaway's, in the Maui Ka'anapali Villas. A casual, unassuming cafe/restaurant with beachside seating, poolside bar, and certainly one of the best lists on Maui! (B, L, & D).

Mama's is a must...keep in mind it's near OGG, so if you can plan that as an arrival/departure excursion, that would cut down on your travel time in the rental car...

I love Vino up in Kapalua...Italian tapas place. Great views.

Pacific-O is great in Lahaina...

Just returned from the quick weekend trip. Thanks for the recommendations. First day, we arrived at 2pm, so too late for lunch at Mamas. Headed to the Westin Maui and ate lunch at Hula Grill. Had dinner at David Paul's Lahaina Grill, the Maui Onion crusted Ahi was perfect, as usual. Next morning we headed over to Gazebo after snorkeling Black Rock. Waited in line for 45 minutes. Had the banana mac pancakes, which were good, but not special. Not worth waiting for. Ate lunch at Ono's (Westin restaurant) b/c Mrs. thor17 wanted to spend more time on the beach and not take too much time for lunch. Went to Mama's Fish House for dinner. She had the macadamian stuffed fish and I had the curry. Both were excellent, but probably not worth the 2 hours drive R/T from West Maui. Would definitely eat there again if in the area, but wouldn't make a long drive for it. Last day had the breakfast buffet at Westin, which was good, but overpriced, even by Maui standards ($25/person). Had lunch at Hula Grill again (absolutely love the Ceviche) in order to spend more time on the beach. Grabbed dinner to go from Aloha Mixed Plate on the way to the airport. All in all, a great weekend getaway with great food.
