I have over 300,000 US miles to burn. Has anyone had any luck reedeming US miles on UA International? They are starting FCO service in April and want to try to get a United First Suite with my miles. Someone told me it is hard using miles US miles on *A partners.

Used 60,000 US dividend miles to book R/T JFK-NRT on United. Better yet, there was a mechanical problem with the UA 777 at JFK, so we got onto the ANA flight to NRT. And on the way back to JFK, United upgraded us to E+ at no extra charge because 'the plane is pretty empty" :D
