I redeemed all my Dividend Miles back in 2004, leaving me a balance of 6,800 miles. I don’t fly US Air anymore, as CO and AA are much more suited to my current travel patterns.

I just got an email from US Air telling me these miles will expire in January. What should I do with them? Is there an easy way to keep them alive, or should I go the magazine route (is this even possible anymore)?

Thanks for the advice.

Any kind of activity keeps them alive. Rent a car, order flowers, stay in a hotel etc.

I just ordered a jar of honey from Biscoff to keep my miles alive! It was the cheapest item available, and shipping was more than the item, but it was still the cheapest way to preserve my 30,000 miles. Total cost just under $12.

There are definitely things you can do to keep your account active, but why bother if you don't fly US? Just get what you can for the miles and move on...

Yes, that is what I want to do. But I can't find the magazines anymore and what reward can you get for 6800 miles?

A family member also received the email--the worst info in the email was that beginning 1/07,the inactivity period is changing to 18 months.I will donate my own miles and be done with US

But that link only leads to points.com.

Searching for magazines yields only amazone.com.
