I was in Japan for a day yesterday. A man was passing out tissues with an ad. Some people refused to accept it.
What did I get? An ad for an hourly hotel? Or an ad for a store with DVD's and private booths?

I'm actually glad those people don't bother to give me stuff since I'm a foreigner. Now if only they'd get a hint from the name on the mailbox and stop leaving junk mail (and here, they leave a ton of junk mail).

When I was in Tokyo this Summer we searched for the folks handing out the tissues and fans. Without them we probably would not have survived the heat and humidity
By the way, you will be happy to have the tissues if you go to a toilet which is not well-equiped with TP.
As to what the ads are for: the ones I saw were for, among other things, beer, electronics, whisky and sun glasses.

It is advertising for a place called Terekura (Telephone Club) Rin Rin (read it as Ring Ring, i.e. like when the phone rings) House
It is advertising for a telephone s*x establishment site. I'll spare our readers the details of what the underlying links say.

If you're referring to the link in your post, it's an Internet matchmaking site.

This particular ad is adult business, more precisely a sort of prostitution, if I didn't get it wrong.

I thought it would be one of those "phone clubs"?

Looks like another outstanding translation from Babelfish! :) :)

From the responses above, I still don't know what I got. Telephone service, video booths, prostitution, hourly hotel?
Instead of the URL on the tissues, here a photo that I took of the package. Any help in translation? A word for word translation is not necessary, just an explanation of what kind of business is this?

There are three possible translations:
1. "The exciting life of a UA flight attendant is within your reach."
2. "Mori Serviced Apartments come with a complete staff in each building."
3. "My cat Smidgen charges ¥1600/hour. Please call 03-3209-5959."
All three are more accurate than Babelfish. ;)

And by the way, my cat Smidgen charges far more than 1600 yen/hour. Specially if you want the special "CAT scan" massage. Will leave 12 deep grooves in your back (or front, for a bit more money), since he has six fingers in each paw.

Such as one might find associated with a non-US based gentile? ;)

It is not completely clear from the description on the package what this business does, but they definitely do phone sex, and it appears that you can also visit their store and watch DVDs, use the Internet, and use their special "sleeping rooms" and shower facilities.
I don't think it is prostitution per se, but not having ever used one of these businesses (honest! :) ) I couldn't tell you for sure!
