View Full Version : Can't select seats

Hi,

I'm going CLT-SFO in about 2 weeks. I originally placed the reservation on hold using my company's travel website -- and I was able to select seats. Then I called my company's travel desk to actually book the reservation. However, my confirmation itinerary did not have seats assigned. So I called my company's travel desk again and was informed that their system won't let them assign seats at this point (even though they are showing PLENTY of availability). I also tried to update my reservation at the US website, but also could not select seats (was able to pull up the locator, but could not change anything).

Is there anything I can do? If I call US directly, would they be able to help me? I'm SP, so would I have better luck with the SP helpdesk? It's a long flight to get stuck in a middle seat way back in the plane.

Thanks!

Yes and definitely yes.

Call soon; as Silver, they can assign you an exit row, if still available, and make sure your reservation is set to auto-upgrade, if F seats are availble. (It's remote on a transcon, but worth the time to be sure you're set up for it to happen, should there be a seat.)

Thanks! I just made SP, so I actually don't have the phone number yet, but will call as soon as it arrives. Any idea how long the "welcome package" takes to arrive?

Too long, especially since your flight is only two weeks out. Call the regular DM line and ask them to transfer you or give you the number.

I called the general reservations number, got the preferred desk, and was put in exit row for both outbound and return. Thanks for the advice!
