I just returned from my first trip to Turkey and used Turkish Airlines. I loved Istanbul and Turkey and have a mixed review of Turkish Airlines.
What really caught my attention was all the alcohol drinking on the flight. The Turkish couple next to me had six wines apiece and were always pushing the flight attendant call button. I was also told that mixed drinks were also free. I do not drink myself but wonder if all the free alcohol would make a 11 hour flight in coach more tolerable.

Of course it does. The following 11 hours however are a different story.

A moderate amount of alcohol can go a long way to make a Y flight more tolerable.
A lot of it may be too much of a good thing, if manners are and inhibitions are lost after a few drinks.
Anything to make me more comfortable and/or sleepy on the long flights from SYD!

Drinking yourself to sleep is a good idea ;) The key to no hang over is to keep drinking :D

And that way, if someone reclines into you, or if your seat neighbor has bad breath, is from a third world country, or doesn't say anything, you won't even notice!

I don't understand the need to get wasted on a flight.
I flew Turkish recently and thought their long haul product was better than anything offered by the US legacies in Y.

Not a high hurdle to jump though.
