As a B fare, this is 150% EQM for both CO and NW, right?

What are the date ranges for this fare? Tried YYZ-BUH in April 07 and got a much higher rate ($900+)

Be sure to enter *promotional code GIANTSALE when making your purchase.

How to Get $200 off your next Vacation:

Book any airline ticket, vacation package, or hotel on Travelocity by November 16th, 2006.

Within 4 weeks after booking your qualifying trip, Travelocity will send you a unique $200 Promo Code in an e-mail, which you can use on a qualifying Flight + Hotel TotalTrip(SM).

You may use the $200 Promo code towards the purchase of a Flight+Hotel TotalTrip(SM) booked for 2 or more passengers with a minimum (5)-night stay.

Got this fare in May. $211 per person on Travelocity from YYZ to BUH. I chose the next-day delivery paper ticket option, even though it cost $124 extra for the 2 of us. After the AZ LCA deal, I've found this to be money well spent!

Thanks OP, just got one for me and the future mrs. mlb_card (but she's keeping her name) in January.

I was too excited and didn't really think of the dates that I got... at nwa.com, the change reservation option wasn't available. Anyone know why?

There are no penalties listed, so i'm assuming it's changeable w/o a problem. ^

FYI!

I haven't totally looked into this fare yet, so I'm not sure how this affects anything... if at all... but I remembered reading this a few weeks ago and thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention...

http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=588247

Anyone notice a new rule in the contract of carriage http://www.nwa.com/plan/contract2.pdf that states that all fares on NW have a minimum One-Way fare of $23.26? I wonder first where they pull this number from? I am sure this has something to do with protecting themselves from $0 fares (or close to $0) and from interline fares that are less (which is discussed in the rule).

I thought this would be an interesting item to point out - see for your self in rule 187 (18May06)

THANK YOU!

I found dates in August that worked for my daughter and me. I also arranged it so we get a three day stopover in Amsterdam, one of her favorite cities, at the start. Plus, we get a nice 6:55 PM non-stop flight to AMS on a Friday night - which works very well. We are booked 8/10-8/26. Somehow or other we will get out of Romania quickly - either by train or plane - as my daughter is not too keen on that. But I know several budget carriers service Bucharest.

This is assuming NW honors this - I hope so!

1) In purchase, there is an "I agree to nonrefundable" thing to click & fare rules to the contrary seem unclear. This may be one of those things that sort themselves out with time.
2) I suspect the airline might be willing to give your $$ back and that is their policy, right? (I'm not a big NW flyer...)

Use multi-city but don't click "Search by Price" - click "Search by Schedule." Then pick the flights you want; it's almost guaranteed to pick up a B-fare seat on the flights you want at the right price - that is, unless some other FTers haven't scarfed them up by the time you get to 'em.

I seriously hope you are joking ... you really didn't call them right? You're just looking for attention right? You want us all to flame you for ruining this thing? No, no you wouldn't really do that right?

Alright, just pulled the trigger on this. The nice thing about booking a stopover is that the base fare then becomes >$0 (my base fares look to be ~$120/ticket) so the odds of the tickets being honored possibly increase.

Because of the 352-day advance, I can only book up until September 20.

Is there any chance I can change the return date three days later after booking, or will I get zinged with a change fee and a drastic increase in the airfare?

Does anyone have any suggestions before this fare is pulled?

Someone did this in the early pages of the AZ YYZ-LCA deal and they were saying that they hoped they were rewarded for "narcing" and that their ticket would be honored and AZ would praise them.

Really not building community in my book.

Bless your heart. Perhaps you haven't been around long enough to know that one of the "10 Commandments" of mistake fares is:

1. Thou Shalt Not Call The Airline Until WELL AFTER The Fare Is Pulled.

You see, when you call the airline, they realize they've made a mistake. When they realize they've made a mistake, they pull the fare. When the rest of us can't get in on the fare, we get very, very testy.

So now you know.

Hold off for at least 24 hours before committing to anything - believe it or not, under IATA rules, the airline has that much time before ink turns to stone.

Booked one for myself and one for a friend to come along on the Memorial Day weekend week. I told him that if he can'et get that week of vacation in May, all he will lose is the $127 fare, not the $84 in taxes that would be refunded if he has to cancel. Do you think I gave him accurate advise?

I will not call NW/KLM about any of this until AFTER the fare is pulled. So far, I have been fortunate with the $64 BMI fare ORD/MAN, the first class fares DTW to Phoenix, and the U.S. Air first class fare to the Virgin Islands. Having been fortunate myself, I am not about to spoil it for anyone else.

However, I am wondering if this discounted B fare is eligible for upgrade with miles from a NW account if you are both booked on a KLM flight thru nwa.com and are on KLM metal all the way. I only have 3,000 miles in my NW WorldPerks account at the moment (used 80,000 balance to send my daughter to Chile on Delta) but I certainly could accumulate the balance if upgrading with NW miles on a KLM flight is allowed. Anyone know the answer?

FWIW, it's most likely that the folks in Revenue Mgmt. saw some unusual buying activity (or just the fare itself) on their own and decided to take action. That said, any NWA employee with computer access can message Revenue Management with relative ease.

I can go all the way to complete the purchase screen where you put in you CC #'s with them with the fare intact. Limited flight options but you can still get the stopovers in with the fare. If you havn't got yours or want more I'd give it a try.

I found it for 04/07/07-04/14/07 with a stopover in AMS all on KLM :-:

Does it matter if it was booked on NWA? Im on a B fare.

TIP -that's awesome, does it route through AMS?

I tried on NWA and was on the final page about a hour ago but it wouldn't take the credit card info and after that it just kept changing it to a $2,500 plus fare. However, it's still available on Amex. I booked for 2 of us in August 07. Unfortunately you can only book 330 days in advance so nothing beyond the end of Aug.

Thanks to the OP and everyone who gave suggestions!

Apparently still can book through OneTravel. SideStep is a good engine to use as a jumping off point.

Plenty of interesting stopover cities -- AMS, SVO, LIS, FCO, MXP, etc. -- although you can only control three city pairs. Plug in YVR-OTP (aka BUH) on the outbound, OTP-your favorite stopover city in between, and stopover city-YVR on the return. Don't forget the seven day minimum. I just booked Lisbon, although I was torn between it and Moscow.

Ack, the final tally might actually be 16 tickets! Gotta sort out the mess later in the AM.

Got 2 for early Jan. Going to cancel the straight through one for the one that stops in LHR.

Got 2 or 3 for April. Going to cancel 1-2 as above.

Got 4 for May. Cancelling 2 for one that stops in VIE. Though it appears the ones I want to cancel have yet to ticket (was applying an ECV)

Got 4 for August. CXL the 2 straight through ticket for the 2 that stop at BUD.

I'm afraid that you're right. And nobody is available to answer the telephone right now. Too bad because I thought about calling to cancel with OneTravel and rebook the same itinerary with Travelocity while it is available lest the OneTravel folks refuse to issue the ticket tomorrow morning (or have NW/KLM tell them not to issue it).
