Anyone have any idea of likely parking availability at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day?
I'd like fly out of BOS at 8 that morning on a 5-day trip and was hopeing Alewife could provide a saner/cheaper alternative than long-term parking at Logan. My understanding is that you can park up to 7 days in this garage at $5/day. But I have no idea if Thanksgiving will find the garage mostly empty due to lack of commuters or completely full with travelers who had the same idea as me but left on Wednesday.
Thanks in advance.

I've parked there to take the T downtown dozens of times (including many thanksgivings and Xmas holidays) as I have family just down the road. I've never seen that garage fill up (though it may at peak commuter/work times, when I'm never there) and that includes Thanksgiving day more than once. My memory is that it was mostly deserted.

The garage will be >95% empty. There'll be a few people who will park there for the same reason as you, but you'll still have the place mostly to yourself.
You might want to re-think the 6am part, though. The T will be on a holiday schedule (read: *long* intervals between trains), and you have to make the beloved triple connection (Red -> Green/Orange -> Blue -> Bus). Plus, you can expect security lines to be LONG early Thurs am.

It looks like with Red->Silver-line I can get the (first on the Sunday schedule which will be in effect) 6 a.m. train from Alewife, avoid the green and blue lines, and make BOS by 7.
Long lines on Thursday a.m.? Really? I thought everyone flew on Wednesday and Thursday would be dead. That's the whole reason I wanted to fly on Thursday.

right, forgot about the silver line option.
Thanksgiving morning is often a busy time: lots of people who for one reason or another can't get out earlier or want to avoid the nightmare crowds on Tue/Wed figure that Thurs morning will be ok. Because you can get to so many places well before noon, Thurs morning is no longer quiet.

I'll second that-- the last two years, Thursday morning at the airport has been a total mess. Give yourself plenty of time...

also BOS depends heavily on terminal remember. Usually Delta Terminal A has few lines while AA terminal B is pretty crowded, etc.

My company has an office near Alewife. Expect the lot to be dead empty. It does fill up sometimes during weekday rush hours, but certainly not at that time.

That is a big lot that should be almost empty on Thursday morning.
