Not sure where else to post this, so I figured the gurus here might have some suggestions on what to do...

I need to go from LAX-BOS and wanted to purchase a US Airways "A" fare that books onto UA metal, connecting through IAD. When I look it up on ITA, it shows availability at $511 one way (fare basis: AA7UPN), with the LAX-IAD segment booking into "C" class (it's a three-cabin 763) and then from IAD-BOS in "A" class (733). For some reason, though, whenever I go to Orbitz, Travelocity, or any other website, it forces the entire itinerary into a much higher fare, which appears to book into "F" and is well over $1K each way. Any ideas on websites I can go to or workarounds to get this fare purchased? The flights don't show up at all on the US website, so that's not an option either.

wasn't there a similar problem with GF F fares ex Dub last month? i.e. appearing on ITA for multiple dates but only bookable through one TA chaeaptickets.com

Did you try the US Airways website? They are very good at pricing out the A fares.

Unfortunately, the US website doesn't allow me to book those flights. Guess I will need to track down a good TA, since it doesn't appear as though this one is bookable online...

Did you try calling US Airways directly? If you specify exactly what you want, they should be able to book it if it's in fact bookable.

If say "if" because occasionally ITA has bugs which allow it to show fares that cannot be booked in reality due to some obscure rule. It is possible that this is one of those cases. It's also possible that ITA is right and the other sites are wrong, but you would need to check with US or a travel agent to be sure.
