While we will be in BOS just 36 hours visiting family, we are hoping to see a little bit of boston too. the family lives in Weymouth, we (mom and four kids/teens) will have jet lag, we will most likely not have a car, and we would like to get out of the hotel and see something rather bostony. so maybe Logan isn't the best choice?

Please help us think where to stay. A suite hotel would suit us well (embassy loogan?). but if not logan, then weymouth-area, or...? last yr, we stayed at the braintree sheraton, but the only attraaction was the huge mall across the street.

is weymouth an easy commute to logan/boston proper? are there smaller quaint areas we should consider?

to sum it up--where could we stay in a suite hotel, with stuff to see and do right nearby, but that is easy drive to weymouth?

thank you all!

If you stay in Boston or Cambridge near the T (transit), you can take the commuter rail to Weymouth from South Station. I don't think the hotels on the South Shore are that convenient to transit back into town. Ohters who actually stay in hotels around here may have a better take on good suite hotels than us local residents.

I would ask your relatives to come into the city and show you around instead of you going out to the suburbs. Driving a car in Boston is troublesome unless you are familiar with the streets. I would use public transportation whenever possible.

Although I haven't stayed in this suite hotel, it has a good location for shopping and sightseeing - one block to Newbury St. shopping and about 20 minute walk to the historic district. It has received good reviews on Tripadvisor.
