Hi,

sorry if this is a dumb question, but I have never flown US airways before and I have no real experience with their mileage program. Also, the phone support are some of the most unhelpful people I have every encountered.

I want to book a 50k coach award from GLA to MBJ departing mid-July and returning end of July. The customer support people told me that nothing was available at all for any of the legs! She said no seats had been released yet, and had no idea at all when they would be released. Does anyone have any insights into this? Can I expect to get a ticket on this route? When might seats be released? She told me that she didn't even have anything on any partner airlines.

Thank very much for your help :-:

air canada and ana have web tools which can search for *A (star alliance) awards. you can be a bit more informed that way. award seats will typically be available 330 days out, and go fast for high demand routes. some people find seats open up along the way as well. you might get more help in the *A forum.

You are trying for a peak season time both over the pond, which is likely the problem. Unfortunately, MBJ peaks in the winter when GLA is slow/not running. IIRC, they sold most of the seats last year to GLA so the odds of giving them away at the "saver" rate are slim and none.

I'd bet you won't see a ticket on this route for less than "full" mileage.
