I will be meeting my German In-Laws in Berlin and want to take them someplace nice for dinner. Any suggestions? Price is not as important as quality. I tend to like chef owned places--but someplace you have been and loved would be wonderful. Thanks!

I haven't been there in a few years, but I was very impressed by
Kolja Kleeberg's Restaurant Vau - try the pigeon breast with
celeriac julienne. If you want to show your savoir faire around the
cream of society (I've never been interested in that and have never
been there - this is only hearsay), try the restaurant Adlon at the
Hotel Adlon.
For arts-conscious folks or Francophiles, Ganymed, where Kurt
Weill and Bertolt Brecht used to eat, is very enjoyable, and the
selection of schnapps, although not large, is discerning.

I had the pleasure of dining at Vox, the hotel restaurant at the Grand Hyatt in Potsdamerplatz. Make sure you have at least a couple of hours set aside. Was excellent.

I thought Vau was merely average but I went for lunch. Food was good but not exceptional and the service was shoddy, with staff more keen on coming into the dining room (where only 2 other tables were occupied) only to bring food and remove plates and spend the rest of the time at the back of the restaurant talking to one another.
I have heard that the restaurant in the Schlosshotel in Grunewald is very nice as is the restaurant in the Regent (when it was a Four Seasons, Seasons restaurant was excellent).
I also liked Aigner, right across the street from the Regent. Great food and is a little more casual.
