My wife and I will be staying at the Park Hyatt near the middle of the month. I was wondering if anyone has eaten there or has heard from others that might have. We are looking for a nice place for dinner on a Friday night and thought we might check it out, but I have not seen or head anything about the food there since the place re-opened. FWIW, we have a couple of other places nearby that we like (Marcel's being one) so not eating there won't be a big dissapointment.

Not really answering your question, but the weather in the middle of September is usually so nice in DC that I would walk the 5 of 6 blocks into Georgetown, but you seem to have a few places in mind already.

The BD is being run by the same chef (brian mcbride)who ran the melrose. the melrose was one of the best, and most under-rated restaurants in the area.
Maybe a few bugs in the reopen staff, but the chef is as good as dc gets.

mrs. gleff and I are there a week ago. They're going for upscale, down-home. You order your sides separate from your entrees and generally share everything. The fries are excellent! Actually, I really enjoyed appetizers and sides but both the entrees we ordered really fell flat. The short ribs were completely bland, not only could they have used salt but maybe some kind of reduction sauce? And the pork dish was one of the saltiest I've ever tasted. All in all we really didn't enjoy it.

Thanks for the info. From the review and description, I suspect we will give the place a miss - at least for dinner. I am sure we will stop in for drinks just to check it out.
I have been meaning to post a comment about our meal two weeks ago, but have been rather busy.
The restaurant was very nice, but...
The food was so OVERLY salted it lost much of any potential good taste. I ask for no MSG in a Chinese restaurant - you need to ask fort no salt here. When we mentioned this to the waittress, who spoke in an overly accented french-english, she said, "would like me to to out it ina bag fo ryou to take home".
Best part of the meal was the desert. Apple pie, home make ice cream! Excellent.
