I'm wondering if anyone with the ability to look at upgradeable seats can let me know how many upgrades are still available for a silver preferred guy on flight #663 (AUS-PHX) on Friday 9/1. Also, the upgrade will kick in at 12:01 am on 8/30, correct? Thanks for the help.

I don't know about the seats, but the upgrade will show up 2 days before for silver. I have a flight on Wednesday (PIT/PHX) and my upgrade was showing when I called up my reservation this morning. Since I became silver in May, I've been upgraded 4 times, twice 2 days in advance (plus this one) and twice at the gate. The last time was PHX/PIT and I thought I didn't have a chance because when I looked in Orbitz all the first class seats were gone, but I still got an upgrade at the gate (guess someone cancelled). You can start a reservation in Orbitz and it will show the seat chart (click on other options to request first class).
