Do either offer F on that route?

If yes, how does it compare to their longhaul F?

If no, which has better business class on that route?

Also, do either allow one-way awards?

I would suggest QR from DOH. They have very reasonable prices in C and the plane is often an A300-600. If you can get a seat in the first two rows, then you can enjoy the old F seats for the C price.

Service on QR in C is also very good, as mentioned here on FT before....

Sure you can! Plus, you can also use the news C and F terminal. It should open next week. It´s an own terminal for C passengers and an own terminal for F passengers incl. jucuzzi, hammam, massage serivice, dinner on demand etc. :D

If it is open and I have access I might do that instead of a hotel in Doha.. Could have 5 and 7 hours or so on both ends of the trip.

yes, you should be able to use the F lounge. If you have more than 8hrs in DOH, they give you a hotel room. For C passangers, it will usually be the Marriott, for F they give you a room at the Sheraton or the Ritz-Carlton, including transfer and meal vouchers.

I was given an overnight in the Movenpick in Doha (LHR-DOH in F then to MLE in C). They would not give me access to the F lounge on the way out though

so good to go departing doha after maldives.

BUT if I'm coming from HKG.. I think it was like arrive 11pm depart for MLE at 4AM..

what happens then?

I guess it really doesn't matter, either I hang out in the lounge or they give me a hotel..

don't need to book a hotel stay for a side stay in Doha really, and that was part of my original reason for the questioning.

although if gallagher is saying he could not access F lounge on way out of doha after maldives trip, then i guess i have to book 1 night stay at that end, so i can go to airport in morning or whatever and go to F lounge..
