FAM had to subdue an unruly man seated in the first row of flight #146 from PHX-CLT and pilot made decision to divert to OKC. No more details at this time.

Probably had a bottle of Terrorist Springs™ water.

"Tastes like water, but powerful enough to bring down a plane!"

Various news reports are saying that a fellow passenger alleges that the guy was drunk and disorderly and pushed a flight attendant. No terror there.

I really hope they charge these idiots for some of the costs incurred in making a full airliner divert for stupidity. How many missed connections, hotel bills, etc.?

I would hope the airline sues the unruly passenger for all costs associated with the divert. Bankrupt idiots at least won't be able to afford to get on a plane and ruin everyone else's day.

Wow - that's incredible for a 6:15 a.m. departure. Unless he came straight from the bar and then kept drinking on the plane.

I'm convinced it's the same person who's depriving me of all my PHX-LAS upgrades!

The sad thing is that planes being diverted due to passenger misbehaviour is nothing new.. when people start to panic that it's due to terrorism, even if this fear is totally unfounded, it causes such fear and disruption that the REAL terrorists to be must be rubbing their hands with glee.

We need to keep calm and not allow (understandable) fear of terrorism to win over common sense.

This week, there was a 'terrorist scare' in Europe. There were two young British Asian lads on a flight to the UK from Spain chatting away in Urdu, their own language. An old lady on the flight told the flight attendant they were 'behaving oddly'. Chinese whispers spread around the plane that they were potential terrorists, and the passengers began to leave the plane, thinking they were in danger.

The two guys were ordered off the plane, and subsequently found to be regular passengers of no threat whatsoever. It is tragic that we have reached the stage where two innocent Asian men can be victimised in this way because of their skin colour and nationality, on the say-so of a paranoid fellow passenger.

What does anyone else think about this?

I think there are going to be a flurry of new lawsuits.

I hope they are by the passengers and against the TSA/DHS and the airlines.

Yet another victory for the terrorists - turn us all into weak, paranoid "victims" suing the airlines, the government and each other all across America every time someone looks at us twice.

"So here we are, five years after 9/11. Our security officials are openly arguing about shoe screening, and Chanel No. 5's being banned from airplane cabins.

Some war on terror, eh? The bad guys apparently have leadership.

Too bad we don't."

To get your enemy to fight among themselves -that's the ultimate victory.
