I'm having troubling finding any information (in English) about this festival/parade on November 23 in Tsumago.

Anyone know anything? Is this worth attending? Is it well-attended (do hotels book up)?

Any advice about this particular festival or good resources for local festivals in Japan in late November would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks...

Is it worth attending??

Depends what you're after. I haven't been there for this event, but what I do know of it (and what I do know of Tsumago) is that many of the Japanese tourists who come here are interested in Tsumago's history as a post town - a place used by many of Japan's great historical figures when they stayed to rest, recuperate, gossip, show off, make mayhem, extort money, inspire, be inspired, etc... This festival celebrates the town's extraordinary past as a significant part of one of Japan's two main thoroughfares.
If I could, I'd certainly go. Whether it's worth it for you?
Anyway, from here: http://www.nagiso-town.ne.jp/english/Page9.htm
November 23rd
The festival of Bunka-Bunsei times in Edo period/ Tsumago
Local people make themselves up as the Samurai, townspeople and so on. They walk through the post town, and tourists can take (imagine) themselves to that time.

This is Tsumago's own web page, very interesting to look through with a translation tool.

Otherwise, why not email them and ask? - keep your English simple, but they have proved to be very helpful:

Thanks for the reply. And I appreciate that "worthiness" in terms of attendance is a vague and subjective notion. I was merely trying to get some feebdback/insight into the parade -- and your help is just that. Thanks!
