I am going to Tokyo in six weeks for a meeting; I have never been there before. Although the meeting is at the New Sanno Hotel near Hiroo, most of the group stay at the Akasaka Prince or New Otani Hotels in Akasaka as they have Embassy negotiated rates. Does anyone have a link to which hotels the US Embassy (I have found list for Canadian Embassy) has negotiated rates and what the rates are at each hotel? I would prefer to stay at Hilton but only if price is in line and so is commute.

thanks,
marc

I can’t understand why you’re not enquiring through the same channels your fellow delegates are. If there are special Embassy negotiated rates, I would imagine they aren’t available to the general public.

My own experience of ‘specially negotiated’ rates for conferences and meetings in Japan is that they are generally more expensive than what I can get through the internet directly. Of course, YMMV.

I’d say find out from the others what they’re paying – we’d be happy to tell you if it’s a good deal or not.
