have the new long range a340 been delayed from been delivered?
my flights to doha in october was scheduled to be on the new a340 in business class but are now showing on a a330-200, will there be much difference?

Just checked the timetable on their website for my flight in November (LHR-DOH) and it's showing an A330-300 instead of the expected A340.

Yes they have been delayed. The problem lies with Airbus. There is a good chance the first one will start flying in a few weeks.

According to QR's website, the Aircraft has now been delivered.
But for me it's still unclear which routes will be served.
They are talking about Europe, US and Australia, but that's a bit too much for just 1 plane, isn'it?

According to this BT article (http://www.businesstraveller.com/default.asp?Page=3&PUB=67&ISS=22467&SID=650999&LS=EMS106021) QR will start to utilize their new A346 on the DOH-LHR route at the end of September 06, followed by Osaka and the US east coast.

Just checked QR website for my flight to HK next week - QR12 LHR - DOH. Originally down as an A330-300. Now showing as the A340-600. Nice ! :)

It's not great picture but it shows the angled lie-flat config, in a 2x2x2 config. PTVs look huge...

QR and Australia is sounding like a broken record....lots of talk but nothing has happened in the 3 yrs since they said they would start flying out of Melbourne!
