I booked a four night stay at the Kyoto Garden Hotel. The pictures look okay on the website, and the few reviews I have found seem to suggest it is okay.
Positives that I am aware of:
* Located near a subway stop
* Free computer/internet use in the lobby
* Bathroom in the room
My total for the four nights was suspiciously low, about $240 total (not per night).
Anybody have any comments on this establishment?

Thanks for the link! Very good review! I've actually never gone to the reviews section on flyertalk; I didn't even realize that such a section existed!

You're not the only one! :D
Please realise that we went on one of Kyoto's most important festival days - The rates were sky high just about everywhere and almost every hotel had booked out a few months in advance. Although our rates were more expensive than yours, under the circumstances, they were incredibly reasonable. I’m sure the hotel would have had no problems in filling their rooms that weekend at a higher rate.
There is a nice Udon shop (part of a chain) just round the corner from the hotel – you’ll be able to snack on all kinds of things there for about 300yen. Naturally, I suggest you also visit some of Kyoto’s marvelous restaurants too!
Have a wonderful time there!
