I just got com'p to GOLD on USAirways (primarily for trips on the eastern seaboard).

Also a PLAT on AA, what are odds of getting an upgrade on CMH-Phoenix then Phoenix-LAX on USAir OR CMH-ORD and ORD-LAX on AA?

Any help would be appreciated.

In my opinion, as a US Gold you'd stand a good shot on those routes, but I haven't flown out west with US since the merger. I did a good bit of LAX-ORD last year about this time on AA and didn't have a problem with the upgrades as a PLT.

The biggest thing for me would be whether or not I could expense upgrade stickers. US comps them, so that would be deal breaker for me as I'm cheap. :D

If the upgrade is free to you either way, then AA is probably a better plan. You might try CMH-DFW-LAX if you want to avoid ORD, plus some of the DFW-LAX flights are 3 class 777's sold as 2.

I've never had a problem getting upgraded to and from CMH.
