I have a paper ticketed award reservation for May 2007, however it was ticketed before the big flight number reassignement a few weeks ago. So now all of my HP operated flights have the wrong flight number (checking virtuallythere.com shows the old and new flight numbers).
Do I need to get re-ticketed or will my old paper tickets still work?

I would call and ask. If reissued, it should be reissued as INVOL and there should not be a fee.

Just spoke to a CP angel (love it when the SP line routes me there) and she said yes, the tickets need to be reissued and it can be done any time including the first day of travel (just show up to the counter early) and of course there would be no charge.

Great! Glad you called! :)

Similar question - I want to use a different credit card on my paper tickets (due to more miles credits on a different card). Do you think that when my flight numbers change, at that point I could get the ticket recharged?

Not sure what you are saying. Are you trying to get a paid ticket charged to a different card by refunding the first charge and then recharging on a second card? I tried that once through a TA and was told that it could not be done, but that may have been typical TA wrong advice. Good luck to you. Let us know what happens.
No way are you getting a credit card charge reversed unless it's a refundable ticket and you buy a new one. You won't be able to switch the charge to a different card.
