Hi all,

I’ve noticed that people have posted the odd comment here and there saying that there are no award flights going in the summer. I find this strange as I just received my paper tickets for my flights.

I’m flying business class from London to Bangkok and then Singapore Airlines back to London. I checked these flights 2 and a half weeks ago and got them. I didn’t really have any problems at all with the dates I asked for.

Just thought I would share this as some have said there is nothing available at all.

Cheers

From what I have read, it seems to be best to book far in advance or last minute.

Also, I believe there is some discrepancy between what shows as available on the new usairways.com (Shares) and what is available when you call US (Sabre). There appears to be an advantage to calling, because one has access to codeshares and *Alliance options that the website does not yet provide.

I managed to get 2 roundtrip seats for 25K miles each plus a $300 paid ticket on the Mickey express only 18 hours before departure a few weeks ago. Travel was on a Friday and Monday.

Of course, it is mid-summer to Florida. And getting a whole row of 3 seats for the 4 of us (2 adults, a two year old and a one year old on a lap) was no easy task. Almost had me wishing for WN where I could throw some elbows to get what I needed :D
