I'm looking at maybe going to BKK for this Xmas / new years and would like to treat myself and go business. I normally use BA, but their business class fares to BKK would be out of range for me (same with QF and TG).
EY, EK and QR all have decent priced business class rates at present: EY at about £1,510, EK at about £1,700 and QR at about £1,550.
I've been with both EK and QR in the past in Econ and in general have been happy with their services. Got the pleasure of getting ICE DXB-LGW leg in May, which was great (all other sectors didn't have it though). Also DXB is actually not that bad an airport.
Now which one should I go for? Heard that EY have really improved with their new 777's, but will I get that plane?
I hear DOH is a bit of a nightmare airport. However I will have lounge access (both to QR and BA as I'll be BA gold by the time I travel). However I think I can put QR miles onto my BA card.
Any other factors to consider? Which one to go for?
Thanks

Take a look at my trip report of my recent QR trip to HKG including a nice link with great pictures courtesy of BerlinFlyer !
Cheers, had actually already read your trip report, which was very useful.

Have you considered EVA?? They have lie flat seats on new B777's on LHR-BKK non-stop with decent flight timings and usually have fares around the £1300-£1700 range.

Well with only experiences on EK and DXB, I really don't know which airline is better. But my analysis...
EK -- an experienced airline with an established hub at Dubai. Food and F/As are fine, and if you can get 77W on DXB-BKK flight, it is better. But then its J seats are still the older generation sleeper seats (not lie flat seats). You may or may not get ICE, up to the a/c type. Food and wine wise... I believe EK is pretty good, but then I am not impressed by its redeye meals (only an option of a breakfast on a six hours flight... not even some snack items), but then the main meal is pretty spread out and many good choices. Nonetheless, QR seems to be a bit ahead.
Qatar -- a brand new airline with a rave reviews so far. The seats seem to be better than EK, and some of them have lie flat seats. But then it is also subject to a/c reconfiguration... some a/c have the new seats and AVOD, some do not. (I believe the flights to BKK will most likelly get the new J seats.) Nevertheless food and F/As and amenities seem to surpass EK and EY. But then you have to deal with Doha, which is a zoo, but I believe the new F/J terminal may be opened by the time of your trip.
Ethiad -- an ever newer airline with perhaps the best seat. It uses 77W (773ER) on its BKK to ABU DHABI flights, so you will get a truly full flat seats (like F on some airlines) and a new a/c. But EY seems to receive a mixed reviews when it comes to onboard service and F/As seem to be a mixed match of good and bad, warm and cold... very inconsistent. Not sure about amenities too...
Each has its pro and con... it is up to you now... but regardless, tell us about it because we are all curious about it too.

Cardfield, thanks for the summaries, proved very useful.
I really regret now not taking the £1,000 fare with QR to BKK in May.
