" Mezzanine level, above ticket counters and outside security checkpoint"

That really makes it useless for those of us connecting... I'd never go outside security at a connection... am I missing something?
Cheers,

My first thought was "huh-uh. No way. It's by Gate 2." Then I clicked on the link, and saw you were talking about Las Vegas, not Los Angeles.
Big difference. LAX versus LAS.
I have no idea about LAS.

Doh! Sorry, fixed. I meant LAS.

Yes, it's outside security, and not worth visiting anyway.

Either here or on USAviation, I remember reading that US is planning to move the Club to beyond security so it becomes truly useful. One can only hope this actually happens. However, when the security lines are not very long - it's worth the visit. Small club - but good staff (at least on my couple of visits).

It is outside security, small-ish, and dim, with little sunlight coming in. It's more manageable if you have a FC boarding pass (not elite member but FC), as LAS has a FC line at security. If you have only an hour or so to connect, don't bother. If you've got to log some time at LAS, it's at least quiet.

On my ORD-LAS-PHL-TPA-PHL-LAS-ORD trip I was able to use the LAS club. It is pretty nice, but still a bit too small! At both times I spoke to different reps and they told me they are building it already, and that by Spring 07 it should debut. They told me it will be much bigger! Anyone been to the TPA club? That one is really nice!

I have to compare it to the LAS Hell on the other side of Security. It's better, but be careful that the Holiday Heifers don't stampede in front of you through Security. As long as there are no lines, I have no probs as I positively hate hate LAS. Smokers and heifers everywhere.

The LAS Club is moving from its current location at LAS to a location INSIDE of security. From what I understand, space has been secured on the A side of the AB gates.
It seems a little bit odd because 90%+ of LAS flights (possibly greater percentage) leave from the two B pods.
I remember hearing that the move will be sometime before the end of the year, but I can't remember hearing exactly when.

There's probably not enough room in the B gates. The terminal is incredibly cramped...

Is it going to be a nicer club?
I would have to say - I think it's the worst in the system - except for the fact the food offerings in the LAS and PHX clubs exceed all the eastern clubs.
