I was wondering what is the best First class window seat on the 737-400, I will be flying on that aircraft (ALB-CLT and CLT-ILM).
Thank you,

That might be because there isn't much difference. Basically, you decide if you want or do not want bulkhead. That's about it.

Hello guys,
I was wondering what is the best First class window seat on the 737-400, I will be flying on that aircraft (ALB-CLT and CLT-ILM).
Thank you,
Personally, I prefer 1A or 1C. No one leans back on you; reasonable leg room. I try to avoid row 3 as you have both people potentially leaning back and a slightly more limited recline because of the wall behind your seat.

I am actually assigned in 2A on both legs. Is this seat ok? should I change it to 1A?
Also, on the way back I am in Y, on the CRJ900 (ILM-CLT) I have 6A, and on the 734 (CLT-ALB) I have 4A; are those good Coach seats?
Thank you

Mrs. Atlantic Beach prefers any seat as long as it is 2C. :p

I'll be in seat 1B in two hours headed to IAH on a 733. The good news of this seat is pretty much unlimited legroom, however, the negatives outweigh it:
1. Your feet are in the way of boarding passengers
2. You better get your arse onboard first since you'll need the OSB to fit both your briefcase and rollerboard (and that's assuming cabin crew isn't using it for their luggage. Also, US west's 733 OSB's are not configured to take rollerboards longways)
3. No where to look upon takeoff and landing, unless you want to subject yourself to a gratuitous shot of someone's unmentionables
There are two, and only two, good seats on this aircraft. Unfortunately unless your actually flying this tube of tin or are a first officer, you'll never see it.

on a US 734, there is probably no difference other than the bulkhead or not choice. OHBs are seemingly plentiful, I've never had issues. In fact on the 734 there are this little mini ones that fit a small rollaboard or your brief case. So it's all good.
on a HP 733: There is no good F Seat on that plane, In fact go ahead and get yourself a downgrade, and sit in the exit row. That is probably the best spot in the house. IMHO.
Good luck!

I disagree on the HP 733. I'd take 1A or 1B. You get to trip all the people getting on the plane and give them degrading looks as if you're better than them, and then you get the added bonus of being first off that horrible, disgusting plane :D

Perhaps (though, personally, I'll still take a seat in row 2 over any coach seat), but, you can't get a 737 exit row seat pre-assigned; you've got to get it at the airport. Reportedly, because of the variety of 737s in the HP fleet, exit rows aren't standard. Consequently, given fleet scheduling issues, they don't allow them to be assigned in advance, whether online or via a phone agent.

Huh??
I can honestly say that I have never seen a US 733 with a seat 1B
Or else, the folks in 1A and 1C are really going to be ticked with you sitting on their armrest! :D

The F seating config on US (west) is A B | C D, unlike US (east) which is A C | D F.

IME if you check in online the exit rows will show. I think HP knows the seat map about 48 hours before and the seats appear, but not before that.

Ahhh, thank you for that. My bad, didn't think to check that part of it.

I've always gone for Row 2 on the East 737s...no bulkhead to worry about (I like to put my briefcase under the seat in front of me), and don't need to worry about not getting a full recline in Row 3. Of course, there was that one PIT-BOS flight where the 2 year old behind me in 3A thought that it would be top-notch IFE to kick my seat throughout the 90 minute flight...

2A or 2F. Room under the seat in front of you and no screaming kids in the row behind you (as is often the case in Row 3).

Ditto 2A or 2F, it's where you'll usually find me. If I'm actually on mainline and not playing the role of Ken on the Barbie jet.
Oh, and hopefully not next to a useless FAM :D

Well on yesterday's 733 there were only three of us in F--definitely a first for me, not to mention on this a/c. They ended up pulling one guy from the back and a uniformad flight attendant to first as well. Still flew to Houston with three empty seats though.

Me, neither. Somebody innocent is bound to be shot! :(
