Hy.
I've the option between two connections on my way back home to TXL in Singapore.
I'll depart 11:50pm. Should I take a fast connection (arr SIN 9:55pm) or a 9 hour layover (arr SIN 2:20pm). All with SQ.
Does it make any sense to catch a train/bus downtown an do any sightseeing? Any experience with this?
Thanks a lot!

9 hours is plenty -- Changi is nicer, but Singapore is nicer. There are even transit tours directly from the airport, or if you prefer to set out on your own (easy enough in Sing!), you could do any two of the Morning/Afternoon/Evening sections in these suggested itineraries (http://wikitravel.org/en/Three_days_in_Singapore).

The tourist information office (in T1 near the airport exit where you pick up a shuttle van to town, don't know where it is in T2, where you'll be on SQ, but probably also near an exit and in any case not hard to find) has large-scale maps of various sections of town (Little India, Chinatown, Kampong Glam, etc.) with points of interest and suggested walking itineraries for each. Even if you don't plan to follow their routes, it can't hurt to pick up the ones for the areas you'll be in.

Thank you so much!
With all your ideas I decided to make a short stopover in SIN.
