Just booked a RT HVN-ORF with companion ticket and was told that Row 1 D/F (emergency exit) are now only for CPs. Could get Row 4, also exit, but no extra leg room ofcourse. When asked whether that was a new rule the agent said no. When countered that I booked several flights over the past month and had no problem reserving those seats as a Gold, she became upset. Anyone else heard this one yet?

Same for the Embraer from ORF-HVN. Row 2 on that one is for handicapped. Strange, because on the website all those seats are indicated as preferred only.

Just tried to book online and no problem getting these seats. Guess I'll call another agent to change seats?

I think your situation falls under the category of, "If you don't get the right answer the first time you call, call another agent."

Did that several minutes ago: seats changed as I wanted.

However, row 1DF on the embraer now handicapped seats.

Given the odd rear-facing seats on the DASH, they should be reserved for FAs only

That's the Dash-8-300, on the 200 you get single row with leg room

There is a little extra room, but I prefer under seat storage.

Also if the Dash is not full, there are often weight-balance issues and they ask those in the first few rows to move to the back.

True, however, HVN-PHL is usually pretty full, so no moving around

Especially if you can get the seat next you blocked out. There is slightly more legroom, under-seat stowage, little risk of being sent to the God-awful back of the bus for weight issues and less foot traffic to deal with. Plus if you gate-check any carryons, there's usually a slight wait for them to be brought planeside anyway, so there's not much advantage in being the first one off.

Agree with above, however, with 6'7" every extra inch is bonus, and I seldom have to move. Hope that my flight to HHH doesn't require moving either because that is 3,5 hours (!) on the Dash prop

For the guy that is 6'7, you should request 9E (I think), it's the back row bench seat, the seat is in the aisle. The back row is nice because it's the quietest spot on the Dash (as quiet as the Dash gets, lol!), plus there is no wall or chair, just aisle. Just something to think about.

Enjoy HHH!

Thanks, have been in that one once or twice, legroom indeed best of whole plane

The seat is 9D, dead center. The row is A, C, D, E, F.

I fly HVN-PHL fairly often (I live in Niantic, CT) and usually have seat 1F or 9F (I actually prefer 9F)

I have US DM Gold, so 1D/F it is not a CP only row.
