Went as a solo diner to this place right near the new Convention Center and waterfront in South Boston (easy walk there, has comfortable counter seating with back rests for solo diners).
Waiters that day looked like their true calling was male modeling, but that's not a problem in it self. Ordered a cup of clam chowder, mussels, sparkling water, and a glass of pinot gris I pointed to on the wine menu. Clam chowder appears a few minutes later, I'm advised the wine is on the way. Fifteen minutes later a glass of unidentified red wine appears and water in a bottle. I told the waiter the wine I ordered is pinot gris, a white wine. He seemed confused but disappeared to go get it. Then I noticed the water was still, not sparkling -- no waiter in sight. Ten minutes later I'm still sitting there, parched from the tasty but salty soup. Waiter appears with -- yet another glass of red wine!!! I tell him a) I wanted sparkling water, not still and b) I wanted the PINOT GRIS, which is WHITE. He's all confused, has to go get the wine menu so I could point out what I'd ordered.
Ten minutes later -- wine and sparkling water finally appear brought by a different server, as did my muscles in garlic/wine sauce(very good). No further attention from the waiter until I asked for the check (I might have ordered more wine if he'd come around).
I noticed there seemed to also be confusion with the two people sitting next to me -- they were brought 2 entrees, both of which they immediately sent back, apparently they were the wrong entrees. Later they got what they'd ordered, some kind of salad that looked like Caesar for one woman and some kind of Asian noodle dish for another. Inexplicably a few minutes later the server came around offering them ketchup. I've never tried ketchup with a Caesar salad or an Asian style noodle dish, maybe it's a new trend . . .
I liked the food I got at this place, but the servers (at least on this day) were untrained and disorganized, which is kind of irritating when you want a nice, efficient stress-relieving break from work.
